The reputation of Isigny butter dates back to the late 18th century. The yellow gold of Isigny Sainte-Mère is a high-quality butter produced in the Isigny region, a terroir with a very special climate that affects the nutrition of the cows and therefore the nature of the milk used to produce its PDO butter and cheeses area. A coastal terroir where the soils of marine origin, combined with the temperate oceanic climate, encourage the growth of grass.

Producers are particularly fond of the Normande breed, which is an excellent butter producer thanks to its milk rich in natural iodine, fat, protein, vitamin A and carotenoids. Butter made according to the traditional production process of the designation area, preserved know-how, with the cream slowly matured for 16 to 18 hours using traditional methods.

The oily texture is silky and has a smooth finish.
